If you are a student
Welcome to Discovery Academy, a high school initiative of St. Cloud Technical College. We have a partnership with participating high schools, making the high school eligible to offer technical courses at the college level.
The courses offered are taught either by college faculty, or a local high school teacher who has direct involvement with the college instructor to assure that the integrity of the course is maintained.
If you would like to get involved, start by contacting your High School Guidance Counselor, check to see what courses are available at your school, and fill out an application form. Or you can contact Sandy Fabian at 320-308-8888 or sfabian@sctc.edu.
Unique Advantages
Your involvement in this course can help you:
- explore a career field and achieve some entry level certifications
- save money on tuition when you start college
- understand where these skills are used in industry through experiences in tours, shadowing, and internships (where available)
While taking this course:
- You are going to earn both high school and college credit
- You must maintain a C or better in the course
- If you fall below a C at the end of a grading period you will not be allowed to continue in the college course
